Inspiration and Ideological Roots
- Inspired by revolutionaries in Bengal and the Non-Cooperation Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, Raju. However, the severity of British-imposed laws led him to support armed resistance.

This fuelled unrest and resistance in the region.

- Methods: He employed guerrilla warfare techniques, organised raids on British police stations, and seized arms to strengthen his group, making the British administration increasingly anxious.
- Title: For his courage and exploits, he was called "Manyam Veerudu" (Hero of the Jungle) by local people.
- British Response: The rebellion lasted about two years, with multiple victories for Raju's forces. The British, threatened by his growing influence, put a bounty of Rs. 10,000 on his head and intensified efforts to capture him.
- End of Rebellion: On 7 May 1924, Alluri Sitarama Raju was finally captured by the British, tied to a tree, and shot dead. His martyrdom cemented his legacy as a freedom fighter.
